Food For Good is proud to collaborate with Niagara Nutrition Partners (NNP), a not-for-profit program that has been making a positive impact on the lives of students in the Niagara Region since 1998. NNP is a Region-wide initiative that supports and coordinates student nutrition programs in elementary and secondary schools, as well as community-based programs.
These programs, often known as breakfast clubs, offer students access to essential meals throughout the day, ensuring they have the nourishment needed for optimal learning and growth.
Currently, NNP supports 201 programs at 171 sites, serving as a beacon of community support for child and youth development. By collaborating with site-based volunteers and leveraging provincial grants and local fundraising efforts, NNP ensures that children across all twelve municipalities in Niagara receive the nutrition they need to thrive.
As part of our commitment to community well-being, Food For Good is honored to support Niagara Nutrition. We have proudly provided healthy hot lunch options to schools in Niagara, and are now expanding our menu offerings and reach even more schools throughout Ontario in the coming fall. Through this partnership, we contribute a percentage of our sales back to the schools, supporting their fundraising endeavors and community outreach initiatives.
From our pilot year, we remain steadfast in our unwavering commitment to the community and reflect this in our initiatives. During the month of May, our lunch sales yielded $2185 in donations to the local schools. Emphasizing our dedication, we wholeheartedly matched this sum, leading to a combined contribution to NNP. Moreover, our collaboration with Saputo Dairy resulted in a generous donation of 600 white milk cartons, further enhancing the lives of children in diverse programs. We remain humbled by the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of those we serve.
With Food For Good and Niagara Nutrition Partners joining forces, we’re not only serving delicious meals – we’re serving hope, opportunity, and a brighter future for children and families. Together, we’re nurturing healthy child and youth development, one meal at a time.
